General Organization Tips
--Don't be afraid to delegate! More hands and heads can be a good thing.
Just because it's your name on the office, doesn't mean you have to do
all the work, pace yourself and the people who agree to take on tasks
for you.
--Make sure office has current hard copies on hand of all policies affecting
the adminstration of the office and it's duties, like the demo policy,
kingdom policy, local group policy, media relations policy, official SCA
press kit, and Corpora bi-laws.
--Make records for items in Gold Key and general office supplies. You
will need to provide a copy of this to your local exchequer once a year,
when it is inventory time.
--Keep copies of all local group and Kingdom quarterly reports.
--If you have a lot of handouts to keep track of, make sure all have
an "last updated" mark on them, and use a flagging system on
thier container for when you are running low on one handout or another.
It can make printing the handouts out easier because you will only print
what you need, and not spend an hour going through all the handouts to
see what you need. Always keep a hard master copy of a handouts, for quick
copying in a pinch.
-Sometimes there are teens who would like to participate in our activities
and events, but cannot because their parents are not necessarily involved
in the SCA. Sometimes a well written letter or even a phone call can help
that parent decide to give permission or even to participate in the SCA.
Here is a sample of such a letter--Click
